Inspiration For 'Glam' Magazine and My Fictional Artist

Cheryl Cole is the Nations sweetheart and style icon.  She first found fame on the talent show ‘Pop Stars: The Rivals’ in 2002, along with 4 other girls who make up the band ‘Girls Aloud’. She has also achieved a very successful solo career in which she has achieved two number one singles and two number one albums. She is a tabloid darling, whose private is constantly being reported in the press. We felt sympathy for her when her husband, Chelsea footballer Ashley Cole reportedly had an affair, which then resulted in the couple divorcing. She is a working class girl from Newcastle whose striking looks and feisty personality won the nation over. While also being a sex icon and model for many famous brands such as L’Oreal and Sunsilk she still remains a genuine person who brightens up our television screens every weekend as a judge on the massively successful talent show the X Factor.

The Saturdays are hugely successful British girl bands who have had 9 consecutive Top 10 Hit singles. The group consists of Mollie King, Una Healy, Rochelle Wiseman, Frankie Sanford and also Vanessa White; five girls whose stunning looks and playful personalities have gained the admiration from girls everywhere. Part of the girls appeal is their naturalness and style. The have endorsed everything from hairspray to perfume and deodorants, and have been the cover models for clothing brands such as Lipsy and New Look. They are constantly in the press, whether it is for their love lives or their fashion choices. They are sexy, feisty and girly and are certainly the new girl band on the scene.

Pixie Lott is the new quirky pop star on the scene in the UK charts. Her debut single shot straight to number one and her debut album remained in the top ten charts for 18 weeks. Her Platinum blonde hair and large doe eyes add to her sex appeal and image as the new ‘pin up of pop’. At only 19 she will resinate with our readership and her style of fashion, beauty, music and love life are all of which my target audience aspire to have. Apart from Pixie Lott’s hugely successful singing career, she has been able to catch the eye of many beauty and fashion brands such as Barry M and Lipsy.

Katy Perry is a chart topping pop star whose global number one debut single ‘I kissed a girl’ catapulted her into a pop phenomenon. Two albums and four number one singles later she has since become well recognized for having an unconventional style of dress and often combines bold colours and vintage fashion. Her unconventional style and kooky sense of humour and style appeal to pop music lovers and also a large female fan base. Her guest judge appearance on The X Factor only heightened her status in the UK and showed her versatility as an artists and a TV personality.

Starlet

Scarlet is the new sassy fiesty and fabulous pop star to hit the scene since Pixie Lott. Her eclectic and bold fashion makes her appealing to the reader as she is not afraid to take risks; she does not apologise for her love the sixties and pays tribute to the ultimate style icon of that era, Twiggy. Being only nineteen she has acomplished a number one single and album (a great change from her days as a University student) and a fashion range at one of the High Street's biggest retailer, New Look. 'Glam' readers will love her inspirational story of gaining success within the industry and will find comfort in the fact that her new found fame has not gone to her head. Scarlet wants to encourage female readers to be strong, independent but all the more fabulous women who should work hard to achieve their dreams just as she did.
